The Transmission Agency of Northern California, TANC, is proposing 3 routes for their 500,000 volt high transmission lines...through Tehama, Shasta, Butte, Glenn, and many other counties. Under the power of eminent domain, they are free to force homeowners off their land.

TANC has indicated that $1.5 billion of federal stimulus monies will be used for construction. This is not an appropriate use of taxpayers' dollars. The most effective use of public funds and the lowest impact generation of green energy will come from development of local projects that serve the communities in need. Local solar and wind projects are much more environmentally sane and financially sound than creating this enormous infrastructure which does not even have a power source guaranteed.

This overpriced monster project is unnecessary, unwanted, will adversely affect thousands of people, their homes, property and hundreds of miles of beautiful lands.
