Jesus Christ and Dracula

A wee bit of controversy occurred on BBC Ireland's Sunday flagship religious radio program recently when special guest, Sean Hillen, medical journalist and author of DIGGING FOR DRACULA, talked about the blood ties that link two of the world's most well-known supernatural figures - Jesus Christ and Dracula - about whom more books have been published than any other single character in the history of Mankind.
Both are considered All-Powerful Beings by millions of people worldwide, said Sean, and they both have the incredible ability of granting immortality to those who believe in them. They are also both heavily involved in blood rituals of one kind or another - one is killed with a spear in his side and the other is to killed with a stake in his heart, and both of them encourage blood-drinking fetishes, he added, which are intensely symbolic gestures borrowed from ancient Pagan rites.
