Paganism vs Christianity

@ggcage christianity is an extension of mythologies that predate it. there are many stories of gods that were supposedly born of virgins, crucified and resurrected etc etc. many similarities in stories align in mithraism, the cult of horus and even krishna.
btw the "love" taught by christianity is conditional and selfish...obey or suffer. and maybe you need christ but myself and millions of others definitely DO NOT !!!

I really don't see how Christianity is built upon older mythologies, unless you consider the OT to be older mythologies. The fact is that Christianity is very distinct, both in its teachings, and in itsevents.

For instance, Jesus said to love your enemies. This completely goes against human nature and human thinking and what was taught previously, yet forgiveness is the only way we can truly move on after we've been hurt, which makes me think its from God and not man

Ok,, let's say that Christianity is Bogus,and that the purpose of most Religions, is the attempt to control "Mankind's" behaviors ..... Is this not a "Good Thing? Mankind, (people in general), are Mean, selfish & greedy ! Religion (Based on fear of a God), keeps Mankind in Check . Striving for Moral Virtues ,is the goal (I think) for many Religions ... You Think ?

is controlling mankind's behaviour through fear tactics and manipulation, a good thing? people that think so have some serious ego problems if you ask me. and how about lying, is that a good moral attribute? religion is built on lies, from the creation myths to what happens when we die, its all BS. threatening someone with eternal torture if they do not comply to a belief system is psychological abuse. good morals have zero to do with religion. healthy morals develop from a base of truth
