There is nothing to see here. This recording represent the interaction between nature natural night sounds and city noise pollution. At the end of this recording a big truck came and made U-turn creating a disturbing noise to the crickets. They all stopped then started again after the truck left. Just close you eyes and listen for ten minutes. Very relaxing.

Actually its frogs. The species is called Spring Peepers. They are not very big but there are so many of them. No crickets can make such a loud noise and crickets do more sing in summer when its hot. Spring peepers do sing in spring also :D

I'm a recording engineer, and if you think this is the "best recording of spring peepers on YouTube" I have bad news...

I went camping recently and could not get a minute of sleep because of these things. Along with other things that went wrong I packed up at midnight and drove 3 hours home. Crickets put me into a coma (good sleep) but these things made me want to shoot my brains out. I left.. At first the crickets were kind of around me, and put me to sleep for about a minute or two and then these thing started,... sounded like there was a million of them.

We have spring peepers where we live in Pennsylvania in the vernal ponds. The small frogs herald the coming of spring and are always a pleasure to hear.

I also so love the sound of the peepers! It's nature's symphony! Once I start to hear them sing, my husband and I go to the bush almost every night, take our lawn chairs, and just sit and absorb this beautiful music. I've tried recording the peepers, but I don't have the proper equipment. What did you use? If I could record this properly, I could fall asleep to it every night, the perfect lullaby!

Oh how I love this sound. You know spring is really here when you start to hear them. Here in Maine they start singing around the Early to mid part of April and their songs grow louder and louder until about the end of May early June and then it begins to die down. On rainy nights they are everywhere!
