I watched Maho Shoujo Madoka Magica, also made by SHAFT. It seemed abnormally normal. Until this op's cousin appeared and attacked the main character. No I am serious. That was the only way I could describe it.

@Hyperencrpted12345 Oh yeah, these sequences that appear a lot in Shaft shows as of late are actually by a duo of former Gainax animators who call themselves "Gekidan Inu Curry". Check out the video for Maaya Sakamoto's "Universe".

@Aethix1 Reading this, my first thought was of Second Impact. An nightmare of unimaginable magnitude, an explosion of sheer force and power blasting through the sky, devastating the planet as the world screams with the abject wrongness of the act. It'd be like that, except worse. And then, she'd stand on the shattered remains, looking out at the devastated world and say, "Look at all the space for people to move around in!" And Itoshiki is still alive of course.
