@cuckooclock1 Because it's a social striving to communicate all the time. And it's a personal pressure you load on yourself in a situation like a date.
The bad thing about that is: In my opinion, the man is being blamed to let "awkward silence" happen.

I understand the seriousness of their conversation, but that guy needs to crack a lot more jokes. This video would be considered a good example of dating for adults(except for the awkward silence), but if you want to get a hot chick 17 or 18, a wise cracker and a serious personality combined make the perfect date in a guy.
Stupidity is ok as long as it contains imagination and purpose, but when its just plain stupid, I like to throw my dates in the trash can.
