HAHA i love how hes taking the opportunity to creep shots of the hotties on the beach.... even in a dramatic survival situation, a nice ass still gets a guys attention.

Bad Riptide, be safe and learn to swim sideways (parallel with current not against it ....Still they had to do a tie line! Then get a coastguard boat! God Bless OC Patrol!

I use to work for the OCBP, I don't know who some of the guards were, but I definetly recognized Lt. Kovacs. Yes, they were caught in a rip current. In order to swim out of one you have to swim parallel to shore NOT straight in. If you can't swim then you should not go in the ocean.

Pathetic

These were not lifeguards. The OC guards were off duty and these were paramedics trying to do the job of the lifeguards. The paramedics should be commended on risking their lives doing something they do not usually do.
They were swimming laterally to get out of the rip current that was sucking the people that were out there out - they couldn't swim in with all that dead weight. Also, this is one senior member of the OCBP Lieutenant Kovacs and a ems rescue swimmer saving their lives.

@cdog8888 that's exactly what i was gonna say .. the ocean is not a swimming pool it's dangerous ! if can't swim well then stay close to the shore cause u'll get easily caught in a rip
