High Quality- To keep the railfanning spirit (and to have a little fun) I decided to follow the Busch Gardens Railway system. Two of Busch Gardens' locomotives, their German and Swiss engines, were operating during this time. The Scottish engine was down due to blowing a gasket from an emergency stop on the line. The first part of this video involves chasing the German engine throughout the park, while during the second part we ride on the Swiss engine. I have to give some credit to my dad (srr972 here on youtube) for shooting much of this footage as well. Enjoy!

  • Nice park trains, but the Swiss engine (big snowplough) looks like an American train and have an American flag. The German locomotive looks very nice and it had a perfect German style whistle.

  • @NS8366 Lol that's funny. I can't say I know too much about valve gears and such, but I certainly have an appreciation for steam; regardless of how ugly an engine may be lol. I'm a fireman down at the Florida Railroad Museum whenever we get the Flagg Coal Co #75 for a month.

I think it's great to see a group like you guys really caring about your railroad. Of course, you have all of the funding you need to fix things lol, as opposed to a donation-based organization like us at the FRRM.

  • @NS8366 Cool. Thanks for the info!

  • @srr7312 Yeah, the British flag throws some people off but the Queen's Balmoral Castle, for which the locomotive is named, is actually in Scotland. The "C-R" on the tender stands for "Caledonian Railway" and the coaches say "Aberdeen Railway Co." both of which were railways in Scotland that ran near the actual Balmoral Castle...
