Pulitzer Prize winner Natasha Trethewey urged the Class of 2010 to embrace "a necessary occupation for all of us: the ongoing pursuit of knowledge, a commitment to lifelong inquiry and the blossoming of ideas" during Hollins University's 168th Commencement Exercises on Sunday, May 23. Trethewey, who was awarded the Pulitzer in poetry in 2007 for her collection, Native Guard, received her master's degree in English and creative writing from Hollins in 1991.
