Via Business Insider: "As the war over income inequality wages on, super-rich Seattle entrepreneur Nick Hanauer has been raising the hackles of his fellow 1-percenters, espousing the contrarian argument that rich people don't actually create jobs. The position is controversial — so much so that TED is refusing to post a talk that Hanauer gave on the subject. National Journal reports today that TED officials decided not to put Hanauer's March 1 speech up online after deeming his remarks "too politically controversial" for the site...".

You sound like the same kind of person who says depression doesn't exist, and how you had 'depression' once and you just started pushing yourself and you overcame your depression. Unless you have lived in a very poor area then don't spout BS from your ivory tower which is oozing in crude oil.

I think we can safely say that any employer will employ an employee if and only if said employee generates more money than he/she costs? This is nothing new. No rich person will hire anyone if not to make more money.

It's the constant spewing of disinformation by the elite and their lackeys that makes less informed people doubt this simple fact. Rich people get richer by making others work harder for less money.

And exactly how many of the extremely rich actually invented something?

Maybe you live in a place where there are more jobs. Texas and oil... so you live in a wealthy area. You have zero understanding of very poor areas that have hardly any jobs, and as there are no jobs people don't have money to spend on things, so retail in those areas suffers (hence less jobs).

You are 19 and know nothing.

The VERY rich avoid paying taxes altogether, OR they hire the world's best accountants and pay very little. That's the reality.

Who advocates rich people shouldn't pay taxes - 35% of the households in the US pay almost all the taxes and almost half pay nothing at all

You do realize that no one in the private sector gets pensions anymore right? Why do government employees feel entitled to it at the cost of working taxpayers?
