SSA Marine has proposed building of coal terminal -nearby Bellingham  Wa.
Gateway Pacific Terminal (GPT) at Cherry Point GPT would be North America's largest coal terminal,
SSA Marine is 49% owned by Goldman Sachs

SSA Marine and Peabody Coal want to bring 48 million tons of coal through Bellingham every year (10 minutes out of every hour) to ship to China!18 to 20 mile-and-a-half long uncovered coal trains per day as well as the possibility of another four to six freight trains as well,

Currently there are 14 trains coming through Bellingham which would include passenger, freight and coal.
With the proposed Cherry Point Terminal this would bring the total to around 40 trains per day.

But to stay on BNSF's side, the coal China is currently getting is bad. The coal that goes through now is going to help.

Seriously WHY do they need to build a new line? Just reuse the old Georgia Pacific spur. NOBODY will use it again just use that one.

We have been occupying without violence or arrests and this action was our first arrests. 12 brave Bellinghamsters were arrested at this event.
