It was cool that Murs mentioned how many different types of music he listens to, he says it in that "How to Rap" book:

"I go to a lot of punk shows and hard-core shows, and I’ve seen Tito Puente, Sergio Mendes—I go everywhere and just try to incorporate elements of other music into performances."

That book was a really great read, they got hold of all the really intelligent MCs for it, like Aesop Rock, Pharcyde, Tribe, Souls of Mischief... good to see proper hiphop getting its respect.
