  • I Think that the problem of the Garmin was not really the Gadget, but the USER!!!

  • as you note the GPSr works fine in any orientation, though the antenna is more accurate in one orientation than another. It is the magnetic compass that needs to be level. So if you are on the screen following a bearing it won't work unless you hold it pretty close to the screen being horizontal. any of the other views are fine in any orientation.

  • My dad is the guy who picked him up in the car at the end lol

  • that's hardly a river more of a stream.

  • @sparkyinwa you are right, however, electronic (magnetic, not by GPS-position change) compasses actually work better when pointed downwards towards the closest pole, since the magnetic lines of the earth magnetic field have a 'dip angle'.

With mechanical compasses its close to level (since they are made to hang horizontal) decreasing its dip to a few degrees, but also making it less sensitive the closer it is to the poles. Dip angle is about the same as lattitude, so for england 50deg.

  • OMG! Hysterically yours! What a rollercoaster of shit! We are talking about GPS and enjoying outdoor and nature. What are you selling apart from nerve-wrecking, panicking psuedojournalism and editing follies?

It is the last shit ever seen!

  • whats wrong with a map?!?!?!

  • now put every UK 1:25K OS map and google map aerial/satelite image onto a hand held unit with a solar panel screen so it can charge itself, and be 100% waterproof in an rubber armour case.and i want the whole lot for £299:99 including mapping software on the unit ready to go from the box.

  • The Garmin GPSmap60 and 62 series are much easier to use and much better than Lowrance and Magellen. Not sure about Satmap as I haven't used Satmap before.

  • @j3tdir3ct i have a 60Csx and my friend has an oregon 550t and his seems to be much more accurate...

  • no garmin colorado are dificult to use and have nothing with the user to do

thw wheel are not a good solution on these gps

the best and most accurate handheld gps today is gpsmap 60csx because the gps chipset there are built in these gps and not ind the newer models
