Secret of Mana -- Power of the True Mana Sword

Secret of Mana (c)1993 Square-Enix

My previous SoM video shows how to obtain the 9th sword orb, not normally available in the game; with it you can forge the true Mana Sword. This video shows the weapon in action against the Mana Beast.

Some may be underwhelmed by the damage done, but keep in mind most weapons won't even scratch the Beast unless charged for quite a while.

And no, I didn't name the characters :)

How do you take videos like this while you play?

For this, I used zSNES 1.51 and two associated tools--mencorder for video and...drat, can't think of the sound recorder.

is this savegame cheated? lvling up all those weapons and spells should have got you up to 9.999.999 GP. im half done with my lvls and already at 6mio :S

i wonder how to get the weapons up to 8:99 efficiently

Yeah, it was. To save time I used another person's savegame, and they had used Game Genie codes to max out weapons and magic quickly.

you don't wait for the chime, that is why you are getting 0 attack on the mana beast

Since this game was made first... When you play this game you sometimes forget you playing mana and that you are playing chrono trigger instead... Its like Chrono trigger is a mod of secret of mana.... A lot looks exactly the same even the 2 main characters., the cloths, the menu, the way the characters move, the main character stance and etc

It is possible to get all to lvl 8.99 and all magic to 8.99, it takes a hell of a long a time... And all the orbs gathering from the mana fortress for the weapons.

the best combination is both mana magic's from dryad AND... MOON ENERGY AND LUNAR BOOST!, every hit will give you 999 dmg, you can take out flammy the first time he hovers in front of you...

CAST CONE OF COLD then use MAGIC MISSLE. MAGIC missle will do 1d4 damge per missle. You get one missle per every 2 lvls over lvl 2. So if your lvl 99 then you sould get about 50billion missles. Cone of cold will freaze for 1d4 rounds!!!!!!

Cast Mana magic onto that sword and it'll do 999 damage every time

You can level up everything pretty effectively just with frame skipping. I just hold down ` and let te others kill the enemies. It doesn't take too long getting the orbs that way either.
