The Eaton system is just a hydrostatic drive with an accumulator. The artemis car is fundamentally different in that it uses a proprietary hydraulic motor that has much better efficiency over a very wide band. The car goes like a scalded cat and doesn't make any weird noises - very different than a Prius!

I would love to know more about this. Nice Idea, similar to Eaton's system for UPS. Wouldn't it be great to retrofit certain heavy duty cars and SUV's with this system?
The fuel savings compared to the electric 2-mode hybrids if true are impressive. Further the environmental impact appears substantially better.
