Expedition 29 Commander Mike Fossum discussed life and work aboard the International Space Station with students gathered at the Department of Education in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 8, 2011, as a highlight of activities associated with International Education Week. Participating in the in-flight call were Deputy Secretary of Education Tony Miller and NASA's Associate Administrator for Education Leland Melvin. Fossum, who has been in orbit since June, will return to Earth in two weeks with his crewmates on a Russian Soyuz spacecraft, landing on the steppe of Kazakhstan.

  • @GaminCro I'm assuming that if China works on their own space station, some people including Russia would worry that China's space station could be a similar sample to the russian space station mir.

  • Some people dream and wait till things happen, and then wonder why nothing changes; some people dream and make things happen. Thank you guys for dreaming and making things happen. If we waited we would still be in caves.

  • "You guys probably don't believe I'm really in space"

Haha loved the "stupid astronaut tricks"!

  • @GaminCro Have hope, dude, you're younger than I am. Society, technology, and civilization has dramatically changed over the course of just 50 years and a few hopeful radical thinkers. You never know what could happen in your lifetime, especially when taking something as dynamic as humanity into account.

  • @DamienZshadow For now, it is just a dream of a few people....I wish i could live long enough to see that happen.

  • @GaminCro Such a shame, maybe someday we will all work as one species towards greatness like these pioneers on the ISS do.

  • @DamienZshadow That's the problem in the modern day humanity...Its actually the same shit for the last few hundred years....

  • This is absolutely cool. Enjoyed much.

  • @GaminCro Gotta love how divided we still are.

  • @kr192101 No china isn't, they invited them to join the program but they refused, now they are working on their own space station.
