6 January 2009, The Blessing of the Holy Waters at Rye Pier, Victoria, Australia. This was another successful year with a record turn-out. A sensational day and one to remember by far!
On this day 6 January 2009 the cross is thrown into the water by Reverend Father Eleftherios Tatsis of the Holy Monastery of Panagia Kamariani, Red Hill, Victoria.
The Blessing marks EPIPHANY DAY, one of the most important religious days on the Greek calendar.
Hundreds of people gather at Rye Pier and beach to watch the ceremenoy and celebrate the blessing of the waters.
