My tribute to Ronnie Peterson the "Super Swede" who died during the 1978 Italian Grand Prix at Monza in an horrible start crash. He was one of the most talented and best skilled drivers during the 70's.
After driving carts and participating at Formula 2 he entered Grand Prix Racing in 1970.
He was driving for March, Lotus( Lotus 72 & 79 ground car effect) and Tyrrell ( six - wheeler) always with a Ford Cosworth V8 engine. For the 1979 season he already signed a contract with Mclaren.
Some of his team mates were Niki Lauda, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jacky Ickx, Vittorio Brambilla, Hans Joachim Stuck and Mario Andretti the 1978 worldchampion.
He won 10 of his 123 races, conquered the Pole Position for 14 times and made 9 fastest laps.
He was the most successful Swedish racing driver at F1. After all these years he still isn't forgotten.

I remember very well the crash and the day after when I recieved the news that he had past away. I was 13 years old and he was my idol.

R.I.P ronnie on swedish (vila i frid ronnie) i am a proud swede and acculy live in the town ronnie grew up in as a matter a fact i live about 500 meters from his parents old house or the house ronnie grew up in we will always remeber u ronnie rip! P.S exuse my bad english!

@sunalexx My answer is simple, Money is our new Jesus, if you don't have any money you are totally fucked. Michael Schumacher has a lot of money but he is still racing and make a fool of himself. Can any human being with some sences explain why?

Peterson with March 761, Regazzoni, James Hunt ...But for me was the best Carlos Pace with beautiful Brabham BT-45 Alfa Romeo. Where are this times...:-(

ronnie peterson ,a true man, a true racer and offcourse a true and underrated champion in life.
that day in monza probably killed him but still lives in our hearts and minds as another racing hero
