  • This is one of my favourite songs, although I am a Finn, not an Estonian. It compares the tenacity of a bee flying towards the beehive despite a thundercloud rising above to the longing that an Estonian has for his or her homeland. Even from a foreign country,

and despite the wind of death blowing against him or her, and the bullet of death flying towards him or her, he or she hastens toward the fatherland. Elagu Eesti ja Jumal õnnistagu teid, armad eestlased!

  • Thanks for showing us the children singing this beautiful Estonian song. What a beautifully symbolic text. I was so pleased and excited to be at the Song Festival.

  • girl at 3:01 is terrified at estonians singing power lol but why?

  • Mu kooliõed on seal alguses :P

  • ma laulsin ka sel laulupeol see oli nii lahe

  • i was extremly proud to be in one of the laste koorid at this laulupidu, and am proud to be a part of this culture, i know so many have already said it but here it is: elagu Eesti!

  • I can't help it and I don't know why, but this song sends shivers down my spine and brings tears to my eyes each I time I listen to it. It's just beautiful. I understand just a little bit of Estonian, but since I've found friends there in the 1980s this country has been close to my heart. Through all the times of changes here in East Germany in 1989/90 and the first dark and then bright year of 1991, which finally brought freedom again to Estonia, we were always close. And we will always be.

  • Yes, you are right. Finns and Estonians are both Finno-Ugric peoples. Our histories have been quite different, in that the Finns were under Russian rule for just 108 years and the Estonians were under Russian and Soviet rule for well over 200 years. I am touched by these beautiful Estonian songs as I think about, for example, the many sufferings that the Estonians have had to endure in the past.

  • Dear Zndlws. Your country is not so foreign actually. We are the same stock and feel the same about lot of things.
