geeez.. Way over the touchpoint. They should have went around.

7000 feet for a 737 is more than adequate. HOWEVER: factor in the mountains and nasty approach? And slope? And floating down half the runway? To say it was risky is VERY appropriate.

@tinolino58 Nice :) I logged a few hours on a Mooney (M20J) myself as a student pilot!!!! Everybody loved it but I still prefere the C210!!!
Wish you all the best with your plans. They sure are adventurous and exciting!!!
Will take a look at your vid now :)

@bruno84 But currently I am without my own airplane. Have to rent... But I expect to end my flying career with the new Trikes. I join now the training for those "Grasshoppers" and hope these Trike's provides lots of fun and adventure. I have plans to land them legaly on the glaciers and hope to travel with them trough the caribbean and the Seychelles, South Africa and Namibia...
Check my little video on Youtube: Petersgrat und Kanderfirn
Have fun

@bruno84 Thanks :-) OH, I loved the C150, I loved those first few years flying on a low budget. It was a great pleasure to control the plane with the 2 doors on the approach. No pedals and no yoke input. Just playing with the half open doors and the trim..
I had a Mooney 201 for almost 25 years.

@tinolino58 My first 5 hours were done in a C150A (1961 or 62) which was also powered by the O-200 (as all C150s are) :)
Sorry about the "flight sim" comment, didn´t mean to be rude! But if you fly since 1978 you should know that 7000 is not that much for a 737, especially if half the runway is left behind.
-
@bruno84 OH Yes, I did learn to fly in a Cup... 100HP, O-200 Continental, hand propping, built 1947.. And what was your first airplane?
-
He used only a half of the runway

I don't think this landing was dangerous at all. It takes skill and good judgement to pull one like this. Have had to fly my B737 almost the same way in short strips around Africa.

@tinolino58 You probably been flying a Cub (on a flight sim) since 1978 and that´s why it´s more than enough for you!!!
The weight of the pilots balls weighed the nose of the plane down enough for it to stop quickly enough.

Captain: Ladies and gentle this is your captain speaking, thank you for flying with us and please ignore the smell of shit coming from the cockpit . Both the co-pilot and myself dropped a massive duce. Have a great day & like us on facebook.
