Father John Murphy of Boolavogue led his parishioners in routing the Camolin Cavalry on May 26, 1798. The Wexford insurgents were eventually defeated at the Battle of Vinegar Hill on June 21. Father Murphy and the other rebel leaders were hanged.

i remember the nights when my dad would come back from the pub with his mates. i only a young fella, they would get me to play this on the record player over and over. great crack they had and the pocket money was good too!
