The biggest weapon used in genocide is neglect. Its quiet, doesn't make headline news and yet its killing people in silence. Our Native Americans are our National Treasure, more precious than gold. Why? Because they have knowledge and sacred beliefs that kept this land healthy and alive. They have culture and beauty unlike any other people on the planet and yet our gov. has allowed them to quietly go into extinction. How very sad, what a true loss for all of us.

I was born in Pine Ridge, some of my family still lives on the reservation, I am an enrolled member. No matter what race, ignorant people are ignorant. Saying the reason why Pine Ridge is full of poverty is because of the white man is the most ridiculous thing ever. Alcoholism and drug use is horrible on the Pine Ridge reservation. There is no denying that. I want better for everyone there, but if they won't help themselves, outside help will do nothing...

How dare you! Make us seem as if we need pity, Mitakuye pi(my relatives) we are standing here and we are doing our best and we fight still to this day against the government. Did you know my peiple couldnt speak their language in schools until 1983 way before I was born, Did u know the last boarding school was closed 1992? Did you know the govt mines uranium here and in one place has already leaked into our water and is getting my people sick?

Shocking reality for a complete outsider like me. I wonder if the U.S. are not ashamed of this living conditions in their heart regarding the fact that they want to bring their lifestyle to the rest of the world. If not in peace, than with military force... THIS ist really a proof of the success of capitalism!! But what you`re expecting? Does anyone really think that free market economy has something to do with HELPING or CARING for people?!? Look around to South America, Africa...
