@xxdarrahxlindseyxx its not disrespectful if he dont know

Perfecting forms is one thing; and I still haven't done that myself. But I find that I learn faster if I have more material to work with. I have to learn new things frequently enough to keep my attention. I'm aware that it may be a bit disrespectful, but I do things all with the intent of pursuing knowledge.
I didn't learn the form early, but I have earned my Third Dan recently. So I'll be learning the form legitimately.

@darken27 why would you want to learn a pattern early? it's disrespectful to general choi and his belt ranking system. Besides correcting yourself in your pattern and tweaking the little things is like learning the whole pattern over again. i still find patterns like dan gun and hwa rang challenging to me because i know i still have much more to work on.

Well, I found it eventually anyway, so it's all good.
I think we do get in trouble if we learn them early. But I think I'm gonna do it anyway. XD

no sorry, and depending on your club, your instructor might say that only he can teach you patterns, and if you know them already you could get in trouble.
-
Do you know the name of 3rd Dan?
I wanna be naughty and learn it early. XD
Nothing wrong about trying to learn more though, right?
-
yeas, this is stylised, when competing with patterns, the sine wave ends at the end of the movement
-
Yes, it is one of the 3 1st dan patterns in itf
-
So this is 1st dan in ITF, correct?
Because in STO, Kwang Gae is 1st dan.
What's the name of 2nd dan?
-
perfect!
No, no, these are just fighting forms. Kind of like katas in karate. They aren't really applied in real life. I agree though the moves are kind of exaggerated.

The idea is to learn to put power in each movement, it is stylised. The "bouncing" is paricular of ITF taekwondo. It is called the wave. this intermediate stage between movements is to lift the body and ensure strikes are given will falling forward dowwards, which in theory should be more powerful. Kicks, punches and movements are separated in rithm to show perfect control of the individual movements. In a real fight the idea is that knowing these will allow better power focus, even if simpler.
