Pharmacist

Partnering with medical professionals, a Pharmacist provides drug therapy and drug information to improve the health of patients. Pharmacists compound and dispense pharmaceuticals and other health care products, and provide consultative services to both clients and health care providers in the community and hospital setting. The profession is expanding its scope into prescribing, adjusting doses based on laboratory tests, providing immunizations and more.

high school preparation: Academic high school with emphasis on Sciences and Mathematics.

academic requirements: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy is required. Minimum of 1 university year of general science is required prior to applying to a pharmacy program. Graduates must pass a national examination and a provincial legal examination.
