Green cleaning parties are part of the environmental movement pioneered by advocacy group Womens Voices for the Earth. Two years ago they examined the ingredients in over 200 commercial cleaners and found that many of the chemicals were harmful to the environment as well as linked with health problems like asthma, infertility, and birth defects. They decided the best way to reach the public was to have a party where guests could learn about these hazards while making their own eco-friendly cleaners.
The video is of one of these parties held on Long Island, New York last year.
