i used an obscure drum kit made in hong kong. medeli dd-306. it kind of sucks though. one pad failed alr. the magic is in the addictive drums vst plugin that i trigger through midi. i just use the kit as a midi controller.

yamaha has a table top drum kit too. i wouldnt recommend the one im using. one pad failed alr. sucks man...

Not totally my cup of tea, but I'm always a fan of people trying new things when doing covers. It's tiring to see people do by the numbers song covers. If I wanted to hear My Bloody Valentine play this, I'd listen to them instead of a cover version. I listen to covers for alternate takes on songs, not to see someone mime them move for move.

In short, just brush off people who are hating on you. We all need to try to be unique and do fresh things, or else we just get lost in a sea of mediocrity.
