This song is titled Tutuwas, sung by Wabanaki women. It is on the cd "Songs of the Passamaquoddy". This song is an excellent example of native american songs sung by women. This song is also known as the Pine Needle Dance.

  • @BabySketti Sexyprqueen is right. The dance evolved from the game. Not wanting to get on your bad side, just gettin' that out there. Tuhtuwas translates to the tuft of pine needles on the end of a bough (the pine tip). The dance reflects the dancing of the pine tips in the game.

  • @BabySketti Trust me when I tell you... I am the youngest speaker of our language and have been taught by many spiritual elders, some that are no longer living. I kinda know what I;m talking about!!! Eci pali-ta-hasi Peskatamukaht Nil !!!! ( I am very proud to be Passamaquoddy!!!! ) <3

  • @sexyprqueen69 Kay? I highly doubt that. I don't care what anyone has to say soo whatever..deuces(:

  • @BabySketti, sorry your but your wrong!!! Tuthtuwas is not only a womans dance, it also is the name of a game children on the rez use to play many years ago!!! they would stand the pine tip upright on its points on a board or on top of a table, which is lightly tapped to make the pine tip move, while the song was sung. whoever had the last pine tip standing won the game and it was repeated

    !!! ;)

  • @MRm4Dr0x Well you obviously don't know our language / heritage. It's not a game. Get your facts straight...I'm a proud Native American.
