This is a pretty standard 16MM home movie shot by parents who loved dogs and their kids. I can't forget the comment a friend made last week after seeing some home movies that she always feels for the pets in the shots, since they are surely dead by now. Of course many of the people are too.

  • Thanks for posting some wonderful old footage...I enjoyed it very much, and thanks for the memories of...dare I say it?....a happier and more hopeful time..

  • It was a very different time, an innocent time when the public (especially children) were kept from things they shouldn't hear or see. It was safer then. We were told to "go outside and play", no video games or DS or cell phones. We played hide and go seek and hopscotch. Those were simpler times and we had appreciation for the special things that came to us like a saturday matinee or a new pair of ice skates. And I'm talking about the late 50's, early 60's here, not that long ago.

  • wow. the quality makes it seem like it was shot yesterday or something.

    with everyone wearing costumes.

  • A simpler time and a better time.

  • WOW! I wasn't alive then, but it looks like those were times when having fun meant actually having fun, not being tied up at work and being able to spend time with family and friends.
