A bachelor's degree in History is a perfect background for being a librarian, especially in an academic setting. But, yes, in most cases, you must get a master's degree in library / information science.

can someone please reply to my question.

I'm thinking of becoming a Librarian, I like to read a lot and absorb information. Once I read things, I like to inform people (share information) about what I read.

I'm thinking about majoring in History as an undergraduate, does that get me to become a librarian?
Or, do I have to get a Library Science degree after I'm done with History?

Very inspiring! Currently, I am seeing Computer Information Systems degree at Appalachian State University. After I graduate here I will go on to library school at either UNC-Greensboro or UNC-Chapel Hill. :) Thank you for the talk. :)

Amen to that. The steriotypes about librarians are tiresome. I have a degree i library sciense but most people seems to belive that my four years at university was spent taking book stamping courses and going to hush training.
