"The Big One" happened on lap 71 when #61 Kevin Lepage came off pitroad and pulled into traffic before he was fully up to speed. He was hit in the rear by #60 Carl Edwards. More than a dozen other cars were involved.

  • How, exactly Lepage tries to take the blame off his own shoulders is beyond me. He was nowhere near merge speed, he was barely to turn one, and his spotter clearly told him the pack was coming. I guess he expects that even though the pack is 2/3 wide coming up on him, they'll all be able to safely avoid him. Stand up and tell it like it is Kevin - you screwed up BIGTIME.

  • I think lepage was able to drive that car back

  • The origin of the LEPAGE'D fad.

  • kevin lepage is a poopy driver and should not be in nascar

  • like NR2003!

  • Wow...what? It seems as though the announcers can't believe how idiotic Kevin Lepage was.

  • lol did ne1 notice that the safety cars said daytona on them even tho they were at talladega.......

  • Belive it or not, thats where the blend line ends. Usually drivers will wait until they get out of turn two before merging with the traffic, but that is a legitimate move to try and get in the draft again. But the peloton (pack) picked up in intensity right before LePage made his move, so you wind up with this SNAFU.

BTW, Insanely good picture in HQ.

  • Ahhh, Talladega...THIS is how a race should be! The biggest, most intense wrecks you'll ever see. Who cares if Lepage is a nOOb at NASCAR? That wreck put on a good show! JUUUUST as long no one gets injured.....Talladega is the reason I still watch NASCAR, has the most intense racing, most destructive wrecks, and dramatic, sometimes controversial finishes! (*cough cough* Regan Smith)

  • I tell u what I am a HD Fan and If I was watching that crash in 5.1 srround sound so loud... woooooweeee man!
