  • "But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace. For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife?." 1 Corinthians 7:15-16. Paul didn't say that, under cirtain circumstances, it is not a sin for one who has divorce an unbelieving spouse to re-marry. One who has divorce has only two alternatives: reconciliation or remain unmarried.

  • "But to the rest I, not the Lord, say: If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is willing to live with him, let him not divorce her. And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy." 1 Corinthians 7:12-14.

  • I wonder what kind of punishment there will be for pastors who facilitate these adulterous marriages and call them holy?

Hopefully, there will be more John Piper type pastors who will start coming out of the woodwork, who will stand on the Word of God on the issue - no matter how unpopular the stance.

  • As we see in Matthew 5:32, 19:9, Mark 10;11-12, Luke 16:18, and Romans 7:2-3, when divorced people remarry they commit adultery on a continuing basis. The Bible says an adulterer cannot go to heaven (1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Galatians 5:19-21).

  • In 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 we read, "Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: a wife is not to depart from her husband. But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife." Married couples are not to divorce. If there is a divorce, the only alternative is clear: either reconciliation or remain unmarried. A third option namely remarriage is not authorized.

  • @CastingStonez

You are 100% correct about FORNICATION and the annulment of the marriage... IN THE BETROTHAL PERIOD! Therefore FORNICATION would have to be presented BEFORE or DURING the "CONSUMMATION" of the marriage... Read Deuteronomy 22:14. It will define FORNICATION. Remember the bible defines the bible... No commentary, STRONG concordance, or version can define scripture!

There can be a remarry but the women MUST present her former husbands cert of divorce to the latter...

    Deut. 24:1-4

  • THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS: An "UNJUSTIFIED DIVORCE" and is not listed in Psalms 103... THIS MESSAGE IS MIS LEADING AND WRONG...

MARRIAGE IS A COVENANT FOR "ALL" not just the SAINT...

Hebrews 13:4 "Marriage is honourable in all"

1 Corinthians 7:27 is speaking of WIDOWS... Not a divorce and remarry... If you are "LOOSED" meaning? Loosed from the Law of marriage to your spouse that has DIED!!! You CAN remarry but, it is good to NOT look for a wife or husband again...

  • I don't agree with you mate.Jesus said that it is only for fornication and not adultery.Paul said that one who is married to an unbeliever is not bound to continue in the marriage .Paul never said or inferred that the person could remarry. If Paul said that he would be violating the command of Jesus about remarriage. The law of marriage that Jesus taught is universal,it applies to unbelievers and believers as well.
