I just had this done on 4.1.2009. My contact prescription in both eyes was -5.00 diopters with a slight bit of astigmatism. The CustomVue measurements determined my prescription to be around -5.70 to -5.87 diopters. I can't remember exactly what it was, but it was in that range for both eyes. The procedure was one of the easiest, most painless things I've had done. I'm on my first full day after the procedure, and it has been awesome! Let me know if you want to ask me any questions about the process/procedure.

Also, the music came with the video, I didn't put it there.

  • Does it hurt ?

  • No. It didn't hurt at all. My eyes just felt a little "scratchy" for a couple of days afterwords. It really wasn't bad at all. :)

  • I did have a co-worker do his about a month after mine and he said his eyes felt scratchy after. Mine never really did. Honestly, it's one of the best things I've ever done and would recommend it to anyone especially if you can't see anything without correction. Message me if you have any more questions.

  • My vision was also 20/15 the next day and at my 3 week check-up. I could also read the 20/12 line with both eyes but not individually (at my 3 week). I was also given something before the surgery, but it wasn't valium. I don't remember what it was; same idea though. I really didn't have any pain afterwards, but my eyes got kinda dry. No big deal really though.

  • @DrDre9243 No I have had that and it does not ich to me but they put a liquid in your eye and it makes it blink thats all so they can track when the pupil is.

    Wish YOu LUck

  • stop blinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! jejeje

  • I have read an article written by a well-known German eye physiologist, who said the laser damaged the cornea, in case of 5 and more diopters, so rapidly that it can't endure the intraocular pressure during the rest of life. The method called LASIK has been applied only fifteen years and many patients who underwent the intervention several years before the invention of LASIK look for specialists cos their corneas are getting soft (refractive defect changes very fast) and need to be transplanted.

  • 2 weeks after, everything is going fine for me. Using moisture drops for the next few weeks. No problems at my follow ups.

I still out of habbit attempt to take glasses off.

  • Thank you, because I was kind of getting a bit scared that I would totally freak out! LOL. But, I know I'll be just fine! I'm glad you posted this online. I'm sure there are thousands of people who have tons of questions to ask, just like I do, before they get lasik surgery.

  • I had this done on Thursday, My vision was 20/15 the next day. Better than when I had glasses. They gave me Valium to calm me, and I felt no pain, as the eyes ar frozen. It took hardly anytime and all. I had no pain afterwards. You get alot of eye drops to use to help the eyes heal. Basically dont worry about it.
