  • The art of advertising all the delicious goodies [including insect repelling devices like "Pic'] you could buy at the "refreshment stand" at your local drive-in theater reached its apex in the late '50s. These examples, circa 1959, were part of a typical ten minute "intermission" reel the management showed before the "feature attraction" began. There were variations, with inserts of different foods available, depending to what your local drive-in offered [not all had "Chilly Dillys" or pizza].

  • @fromthesidelines - Thanks for the info! :)

  • how the hell do i find the refreshment stand? it's a completely black building in a completely black room

  • @Emason16 i was just thinking that lol. back then you could actually eat the food for the commercial shoot. now they just like... chew gum, or their tongue, or the inside of their cheek hahahah

  • Why arent theaters still doing these?! I already ate and Im hungry jus by seeing this lol.

  • It's interesting to see how the advertisers used the actual food in the ad, instead of the fake, "prop" food we see in commercials now and days.

  • I might get everything on the menu.

  • that guy at the end is a queen because his little finger is sticking out.
