Macross Zero F-14 Tomcat vs Mig-29 AMV

Im not good at doing AMV but i had time so I whipped this video up while i was at work, i love the F-14 Tomcat fighter and decided to make a video only showing a dogfight between 4 F-14 and 3 Mig-29 planes.

The retiring of the tomcat was not due to it's poor performance, it's maintenance. The new Raptor and the F-35 programs were sucking all the defense budget out.

In a interception engagement a F-14 would destroy a MIG-29 in a closer combat scenario the MIG-29 wins.

F-22's are to expensive to risk in actual aerial combat at the moment against enemy fighters/interceptors. Also Iraqi 29's were export models and have much less avionics. Luftwaffe 29's scored well in exercises against 15's, 16's and older 18's if the was numerical equal sides, it had a much further missle seeker ltracking angle than its USAAF opponents.

@KJlost German MiGs only went up against the nimble F-18,the F-15 has been battle proven to win against the MiG-29,operation desert storm was proof that the F-15 kicked the iraqi air force's ass.The MiG-29 is faised out,the new Su-35BM would be easy to spot sence its alot bigger than the F-15.Now the russians cant make small durable planes,they want big and heavy planes,Russian planes seem a little big for carriers,Besides the F-22 would crush the entire flanker family easily.
