I remember this album coming out and I played it to death. Most of it was instrumental, and there was an honest effort to introduce African sounds within a western sensibility. At the age of fifteen, it was a really distinct project. Most of the kids in my year were buying up Duran Duran, so good on him for doing something which wasn't another commercial formula.
