@sad18240 Oh you're wrong dude, You can use that same exact move in No Gi BJJ or "real life street fight BJJ" just as smoothly as you can in Tournament BJJ. I have done it myself. And you can do it from many different positions too. It is only a simple arm drag technique it is not as if he was performing a cross collar choke where you need a Gi or some sort of a heavy jacket or something.

@crwv wrestling moves us leverage too!
-
The only thing i don't like about these techniques is that they are for tournament BJJ and not real life street fight BJJ
-
arm drag aê, pra quem ta iniciando agora esse golpe faz a diferrença no começo do rala.
-
leverage is less important in WRESTLING
because there is no submission!
However in SAMBO,CATCH as CATCH CAN and BJJ (All the submission wrestling) leverage is important!
Positions are not for point only ,but for submission!
In GRECO_ROMAIN,the leverage is more
important than in FREESTYLE!

The armpit in wrestling is used because it is actually much harder to resist the drag than if you were to just grap at the humerus, and the wrist grap is next to uselss while standing or without the gi. With the gi more possiblities arise, as the number of grips you can use to attack increase. This grip is an excellent attack for gi fighting, where as when he does this without a gi he does, if memory serves, use the armpit grip.. It is a more secure no gi grip.

No! ! I'm Brazlian. you're ashamed for Brasil. You dumb punk!!!!

thanks !

At first i thought using arm drag with gi is way harder than no gi because the opponent can keep control of you by just grabbing cloth. im trying this anyway, i love using armdrag to get on the back.

but if you want to bring the arm across their body to attack the legs or isolate a particular side of your opponent you are probably better off controlling the tricep. I'm sure there are other reasons, but I still think preference, situation, and objectives dictate there uses.
garcia is a great fighter. one of the bests in our days at the world.

leverage maybe? Jiu jitsu is more centered on leverage whereas wrestling moves are often strength based.
