  • judy garland was much more than just a little girl from Kansas.........

  • I saw the Wizard of Oz stoned once... best movie EVER!!!!

  • I actually have a VHS copy of the movie that has been autigraphed by several of the remaining munchkins, including Jerry Maren. :) I don't often think about it, but it is probably one of my most prized possessions.

  • Does anyone agree that Margaret Hamilton has an uncanny resemblance to Amy Farrah Fowler from The Big Bang Theory?

  • LOL..... Singer Midgets

  • @Leask17 You are probably right, but was just putting the film in it's historic context, middle of the depression and released right before the beginning of the European theater of war (the war in the pacific started a few years before) and 6 years of massive suffering.

  • @christo930 This film was probably a nice escape for people in a time of such despair.

  • While all this sweetness and love is going on film, the world is entering the worst 6 years in it's history with 55 million men women and children killed, Europe's cities destroyed and 40% of US productive capacity going towards bombs, and other items of war. Adolf Hitler is about to create Auschwitz, ghettos, mass killings of Russians, Jews and others and both sides (axis and allies) perform war crimes unthinkable until that point. This story needs a little dose of reality.

  • @MckyMseNTarotCrds - Jack censored it in that particular retelling...he's typically quoted Lahr as saying "that sonuvabitch/bastard can sleep on a meathook". :-D

  • love that movie it would of been awesome if sherly timple was in it!
