"Context" is a cop-out for insensitive behavior.

Saying "retarded" was comedic relief while bringing up the fact that "rape" isn't the only word that is used insensitively. You should realize that before you misrepresent me to support a weak argument.

Some you don't realize that a woman being raped is like a scar. When they hear the word, our a joke about it, it may bring back an uncomfortable memory. One of my old teachers served in the military, and anytime he heard a book fall, he would get panicky about it and told us it brought back a traumatic memory. You can't just look at a woman and know if she was raped or not, so sometimes it better to not bring it up at all.

And while I agree that jokes or - as is the case in your example - gaming terminology of this nature are and is vulgar and tasteless, you choose your friends and you chose... these. Not only that, you encourage it, by displaying a positive reaction to it.

If women approve, it's good. That line of reasoning is the logical outcome of gynocentrism and female glorification. If you have laughed along with them, you are a [rape joke enabler].
