I was in tears I was Laughing so hard. This is a great episode.

Car 54 has just got to be one of the funniest shows EVER to come on TV. So much time is spent on character developement (relative to the time involved 21 mins.) that when the laughs come they are very intense. I can't remember when I laughed so hard at a TV sitcom. perhaps it was another character in this episode: Larry Storch as the Burglar of Bamff (prononced BamFa-Fa). Please bring me back to these days away from this witless, sophmoric,bathroom humor of today.

This was comedy. Characters, all of them, and they were funny because the situations were funny. Vulgarity and sexual inuendo was unnecessary, because these guys were good.
What a difference from today. For the record, this sitcom aired before I was born.
