    well, sort of. In novel, when the subject of St. John and marriage is brought up, Rochester is holding Jane on his knee. I do love this version, despite some of the liberties it takes. It is the only version where I really feel like the characters are in love, and it's really how they look and talk to each other The 2011 film is also excellent, I agree, especially the scene where Jane is explaining why she must leave. That scene alone was pure brilliance. :)

    This is definitely the best version! I dislike all the other Mr. Rochesters. You can really believe the romance between these two. The others seem much to severe and glowering.
