the Mule does make 270 minerals but wouldn't the SCV that you took off the line make up the extra minerals anyways?

Thats true but generally you want to have a unit constantly scouting and since SCVs move faster than marines its general preferred to have one unit out on the field controling xel-naga towers and watching for enemy movement at all times. I would rather scout out a push and have time to put up a bunker in time. All professional players usually have a unit on the field at all times.

@deepwaterDW "APM" IS the answer to your question. I just gave you a little more information about it. Honestly, if you couldn't figure out what he was saying from the context ("pick up my APM") then I think it's a safe bet that you don't really understand what APM is or how it is important.

@deepwaterDW He is spamming to pick up his APM (Actions Per Minute). That's essentially the number of mouse clicks and keys pressed each minute. The higher the APM... the more he can do. Think of it this way... what if you were playing chess and each time your opponent moved once - you got to move twice.

So, he's spamming in the beginning to make sure his APM is high and he can do as much as possible given the time. He mentions his control key setup - which is a big factor in high APM.

Dont forget to alwais que commands for scv... like when you move out to buid a supply depo, shift click him back to the minnerals.
