On Sunday, Nov 13th at 3 PM, a few dozen tomato pickers from Immokalee will join scores of Sarasota allies to picket outside the Publix that opened this week at 2031 Bay St. Protestors are calling on Publix to take part in the CIW's Fair Food accords, hailed by the New York Times this summer as "possibly the most successful labor action in the U.S. in 20 years." The CIW's Fair Food agreements dramatically lift farmworker wages and improve their work conditions, and are signed by top leaders of the fast-food and foodservice industries, including Taco Bell and McDonald's, the two stores that sandwich the just opened Publix.
Go after the farm owners and crew leaders, I used to leave in Immokalee. These people are slave drivers and never pay there workers fair wage.

The last Two cases of Salomellia in Tomato Shipments came from The Immokali area. That is why I grow My own vegitables or buy local. I say No Thanks to GMO and Ethyline Gassed Tomatoes. If the CIW and its supporters were true Progressives, They would Strike/Pickett The Field Owners and Bosses. not a seconed or third tear Vendor, who has nothing to do with thier wages or quality of life. Untill this happens They will not get any respect from the Mainstream Public.

What losers. Publix has nothing to do with this 'movement'. Evil corporation? Ask its thousands of loyal employees how evil they are. I intend to shop there more now.
