Sorry bro, but we didn't exactly choose him to be our leader. More than half of the country voted AGAINST Bush in 2000, but a series of mishaps in Florida lead to a lot of Al Gore's (Bush's opposing candidate in '00)votes being "lost". The Supreme Court denied a formal recount, and so our country was stuck with a president who less than half of the people voted for.

The govt basically owns AIG, and a few other banks. On the other hand the govt is being heavily influenced by other businesses like Goldman Sachs and haliburton.
