@KingDcome11 Yeah, I don't fully understand all the haters to be honest. (Although I address this in an earlier comment, like two or three below this one.) One theory: Asian folks just want to be left alone. Chinese, Vietnamese, whatever, they just don't want any white folks checking out their stuff. Which seems somewhat COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE to owning a business, you know? Wouldn't you make more MONEY if white folks AND Asian folks ate at your restaurant? Just a theory.

@FoodDudeSF Like I said, the important thing is that the people who own Them Ky are very happy with the exposure this video has brought them, and the additional business. And, for what it's worth, I'm all for cultures mixing together, especially when it comes to FOOD! In NYC there is a whole category of restaurant called CHINO-LATINO, run by Chinese folks with ties to CUBA!! Damn fine eating!

Inevitably, if you put yourself out there to the public, there's going to be some people who will attack for no apparent reason. Here's the good news: the people who run this restaurant? They love me. They won't let me pay for my meals anymore. This video has, categorically, undeniably increased their business substantially. So, let the haters say what they will, I don't mind. Cheers!

@GirlFlower529 Yes, in the sense that it's not a "fine dining" restaurant. If you were meeting a guy there for a blind date, it's not exactly what you would call impressive looking. Also, the neighborhood it's in is one where you don't have to walk far to buy drugs or find prostitutes. This has NO BEARING on the food, mind you, but some people might find the setting a bit, yes, "funky."

@FoodDudeSF I don't think its that asians dont want white people in their restaurants, it's that they get offended with backhanded compliments such as it looks funky, sounds bad but taste good, as an american I suggest this, ect and close mindedness such as not giving a dish a try (tripe).

I understand youre not a cross cultural expert but agree some hating is uncalled for.

@FoodDudeSF I think it's the opposite. These people insulting you are not Asian ( at least not Vietnamese ) . They don't like asian food and probably think you should stick to your own food. I know Vietnamese would be proud to hear you speaking wonders of their food!!
