Vintage Synths Vol 1 - Moog System 55 Modular, German synth historian Matthias Becker produced a CD series back in 1990 with tracks made with one synth only. The CDs were named "Synthesizers Von Gestern Vol 1/2/3". This track was recorded at Originalton West Studio / Köln.

  • Out of interest can this not be done in software or is the sound quality miles apart? I guess the laptop speakers I'm using aren't great but on this platform it does sound quite similiar to a software vsti.

  • @maccagrabme it has been debated for 10 years now if a VST can sound like a real analog synth. I use both and they have their own pros and cons.

  • Thats cause you are used to hear those morons who sit with a $50 000 Modular system and only produce sounds a malfunctioning radio does frequently.

  • how mutch would one oy them run like thousands????

  • it was this song that got me into oscillators

  • i am thinking about a re-release of the three vintage synths cds. anybody out there interested ? if yes, just let me know. ..

  • Someone made a claim that these are out of production. Strictly speaking, there's no more Moog modular synths being made, but there ARE other modular synths. Including a company who's modules could be consider Moog clones.

  • @triumphthruxton Yes, and if you go further into the past there was no debate yet, because any software was still far from acheiving something closely similar. ^^

  • sounds like Tron

  • @maccagrabme: It’s the physical tweaking an patching that makes the real instruments stand out, among other things. There are some good emulations of analog instruments, though.

  • @EntrailSaunders they've been out of production since 1980. They run in the tens of thousands of dollars for a complete system these days.

  • perfekt

  • beautiful. i like your style.
