@mrpower328 i was having the same problem. disassemble the cable and check if any wires are broken. i had to soder a green wire on.

this post is abit old but if you still need a screen let me know i've got a old 404 hows power board is out but the screen is in great condition will let go for 20 bucks

the archos still works though but archos themselves dont repair it since they discontinued the model

My computer is not recognizing my ARCHOS when I connect to my PC. I've been using this player for about a year now and all of a sudden its not recognized on my PC. Does anyone out there that have any helpful advice?

they stick because you had stuff on your fingers while using it.
Mine has been constantly used for a good year now, and it's still rocking!
The only thing that went bad is the battery.
I bought the 5 dollar battery pack from ebay, and with duracell 2650mah batteries, it plays all freaking day long.
Best little buy I made in a long time!
Sticky Fingers = sticky buttons.

I Have A Problem With My 404 Cam It Sometimes Turns On The When Im On The menu Screen The Screen Then Stars To Fade Out Into A White Color And Sometime It Wont Turn On Also Sometimes I See Blue Lines Flashing On The Right Side Of The screen Plz Help

some of my buttons are sticking and dont work half the time. my up button hardly works anymore. the menu button to change screen sticks all the time..hate the buttons
