Babylon5 mod demonstration for Sins of a Solar Empire

This short clip demonstrates an incomplete Omega-class destroyer from B5 in game, and an experiment on B5 jump points.

FYI: This model is roughly 4x the size of a Kol and currently has 40 weapons points!

dude how did you guys get sins to run animation?

sins has a really good and moddable particle system, its basically a secondary mesh acting as a flair point particle emitter with one of the shaders used on normal ship models. I wish there was a way to add more advanced logic into the animation but that information really needs to come from the core game engine and it doen't read motion paths externally.

You should read the various B5 threads on the official SoaSE forum, and most importantly support people contributing to the mod that are proposing additional features to the vanilla game against the endless background drone of die hard fans that oppose any changes.

make sure you make some operational mine lanchers under the front fighter bay. those red hatches on the side are for missles. and on the centrifuge edges are some fighter lauch bays. don't question me though, just do it. thats how B5 guys designed it

Claudia Christian leaving at the very last minute due to unwillingness to properly negotiate her contract didn't help either, as whole sections of season 5 had to be rewritten. So a bit of a perfect storm of complications. Some of the best episodes of the show are in season 5 though: Fall of Centauri Prime stuff was amazing. With JMS writing every episode but one starting from the middle of season 2, while also being exec producer, any roughness is understandable due to exhaustion

The series wasn't canceled. It was never intended to last more than 5 years. The whole structure mimics a book, and there was a definite ending in mind; the show was always meant to end there. Crusade was canceled because the execs at TNT were kinda crazy, and Season 5 had some rough spots because originally there wasn't going to be one due to Warner's network falling apart. It was a last minute thing and stuff got shuffled. JMS also lost his notes and had to scramble there too.
