Well you don't ride THE SAME. An equitation course and a hunter course and the judges for the different classes are looking for and required different things. But yes, slouching isn't good in any ring, and since hunters are judged subjectively a slouching rider presents a less nice overall picture and a rider with a good position and a nice horse would place higher than an equally nice horse with a less nice rider. I <3 your horse, he's such a pretty color. You guys are great :-) fellow LIer.

Your ride should be exactly the same for a hunter and an eq. course. Showing in the hunters is no excuse for slouching, you'd get murdered at a GM clinic
