Pair skating is quite dangerous because they are thrown in the air and timing is quite crucial for the skater that does the stunt, to make a safe landing. Sometimes, more falls are often due to a loss of balance. Figure skating should not be compared with Pair skating in terms of safety issues.

why aren't they going forward on designing a helmet specifically for skaters? is it because many skaters won't wear them? its so dangerous. im always worried about some of the pairs skaters at my rink. im am mainly a single skater, but am training in pairs lightly incase i decide to make the transition later, and once i am more serious about it i would definitely wear some kind of protection from a serious fall like that. this was a great video though, thank you
