The term 'essence' as used here is meant to refer to imagery that harmonizes with elements of a viewer's internal sense of beauty and wonder. I consider this sense of beauty and wonder to be a universal quality recognizable to all who are open to it. In this context, the imagery presented here may be considered as 'archetypal'. Faced as we all inevitably are with the prospect of eternity before us, we feel a need to discover some magic ground that is forever new. We seek an 'essence', which through some special alchemy will reveal places of wonder, grandeur, and unsurpassed beauty. Such vistas nurture our souls. No human is devoid of this need, and all are capable of exploring it, although few seldom attend to it.

In fact, I would argue that no living creature is devoid of this need. Consider the splendor of flowers, for example. Their beauty is not made to attract us humans. Their beauty existed long before any humans were around. Their beauty and fragrance is made to attract creatures like bees and moths and butterflies. The fact that it mesmerizes us as well is simply a tribute to the exquisite artistic sensibilities of bees and moths and butterflies. Furthermore, it is a tribute to numerous members of the plant kingdom as artists. By this analogy, I consider the fractal work I do to be my 'flowers'

The essential alchemy capable of rendering the magic ground that is forever new is found in the boundless worlds of fractal structures. Everything in the universe is made from them. I have studied these structures both professionally and artistically for more than forty years. Still, I have peeled away only the outermost layers of the onion. But even that much has been sufficient to show that the 'essence' lies within. And it is that 'essence' which I seek to explore in my art. This video presents some of the fruits of that exploration. I hope you like it.

The music in this video is of no discrete origin. It was created from blending numerous sources to form a one-track mosaic that is so varied that specific attribution would be difficult, so I have made none.

  • @bukbanzi Hello there my friend, thank you for dropping by. Your kind words, in addition to the much appreciated praise, provide the added bonus of affirming that I am not yet past my prime. If this is indeed my "finest work" then I am still on a roll. Halleluiah for that, and again, thank you kindly.
